Biography
Dr. Michael Ezzo Recently served as Chief Deputy Director for the Michigan Department of Community Health. With a $10 billion budget, the department is responsible for health policy and management of Michigan’s publicly funded health systems including Bioterrorism, Medicaid, Public Health, Mental Health and Substance Abuse, Office of Services to the Aging, the Office of Drug Control Policy and the Crime Victims Services Commission. He also served as the president of the Michigan Public Health Institute.
Ezzo, of Lansing, recently served as Director of Strategic Initiatives for the Department of Community Health and as Management Consultant in the Office of Governor Jennifer M. Granholm. He previously served as Clinical Director of Integro, a mental health clinic in Jackson County and as Vice President of Edexcell, a training company that develops training materials for mental health professionals.
Currently, Dr Ezzo is a member of the College of Consultants for the W.K. Kellogg Foundation. Members of the College of Consultants assist W.K. Kellogg Foundation grantees in improving their overall performance, effectiveness, and financial sustainability.
He earned a Bachelor of Science degree from Michigan State University and a Doctor of Education degree in counseling psychology with a specialty in Neuropsychology from Western Michigan University.
