Dr. Ezzo provides services in the fields of Information Technology and Psychology.

Information Technology in Healthcare:
Useability Testing: The goal of usability testing is to find out what is and is not working well on with a computer product. In a usability test, you usually want to answer questions like these:
• Do users complete a task successfully?
• If so, how fast do they do each task?
• Is that fast enough to satisfy them?
• What paths do they take in trying?
• Do those paths seem efficient enough to them?
• Where do they stumble?— What problems do
they have?
• Where do they get confused?

New Assessments for 2009

Return to work evaluation.  For some patients it’s difficult to determine the extent psychological factors are contributing to their ability to effectively return to work.  They may be harboring feelings of victimization, anger towards the employer, supervisor, or coworkers.  Economic disincentives and employment-related loss of self-esteem can also be barriers to recovery and effective reintegration.  This four-hour evaluation can provide insights to determining the best course of action.

Disability Determination evaluation.  Patients often present with a multitude of medical issues.  Understand which are the pertinent issues and the relevance of psychological factors takes time.  This four-hour evaluation entails a structured interview, questionnaires, and psychological tests.  A report is constructed in a way to help facilitate your decisions and recommendations.  Typical reports include a timeline related to injuries and interventions, medication lists, active clinician lists, co-occurring disorders, work history, and a personality assessment.

Medication Compliance evaluation.  Patients suffering from chronic conditions often begin to self-medicate and create home remedies to supplement their treatment.  This becomes complicated as narcotics are either being considered or in current use.  The four-hour evaluation explores locus-of-control, addictive and ritualistic behaviors.  After a structured interview the patient completes a series of questionnaires and psychological tests.  A report will include a medication list, active clinician lists, stressors and drivers contributing to their decision processes.

Pain Management Services

Our Pain Management Services are a combination of education, hands-on techniques, and a unique mix if EMG and EEG biofeedback.  Patients work hard to restore restful sleep, adapt a diet that gives them the energy they need to manage thier pain, and explore a lifestyle that integrates simple exercises to help keep good muscle tone.

Assessing Alzheimer's Patients

Once a patient has been recognized as having Alzheimer's the difficult questions begin regarding care and safety.  I've augmented the basic neuropsychological evaluation to begin to establish the current status of the patient.  I'm then able to education the family and care givers about key issues and how to continue the evaluation for diminishing independance.  Depending on the patient's current level of functioning the evaluation can take between 4 and 7 hours.  If necessary, I will divide the session in two parts in order to get the patient's best performance.  Finally, a one hour meeting is held to review results.
